We are excited to share the next generation of Satori’s Data Security Platform, representing a huge leap forward. Here are some of the changes we are making.
Data Discovery
You can only control what you know. Our expanded data discovery engine allows you to discover data stores across your cloud environments automatically. The engine scans cloud environments like AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and MongoDB.
Having data discovery as part of your data security platform enables you to always be on top of your data assets. You can move faster when knowing what you have and placing controls on it to mitigate risks happen in the same place. When different teams in your organization can add new data stores, it’s crucial to know what data you have and what your risks are. With continuous data discovery, you mitigate the risk of your security and IT teams having unknown data stores.
Data Security Risk Mapping
Satori automatically assesses data stores’ ongoing risk, providing a risk score for your security team to monitor changes in the data landscape. The assessment takes into account not only the data store configuration but, more importantly, the types of data stored (for example, PII, PHI, and other sensitive data) and the type of environment (testing, production, and so on).
Alerts
Satori generates alerts based on how data stores are configured, what security controls and policies are applied to them, the content of the data stores, and user activity involving sensitive data. This eliminates a lot of uncertainty when protecting customer data and helps you be proactive about data security, making sure issues are handled before they become incidents.
New Data Security Platform Dashboard
The new dashboard provides the data you need to mitigate data security risks. From one dashboard, you can understand which data stores pose the most risk, manage the alerts triggered by Satori, and view your high-level data security posture metrics.
Streamlining Risk Mitigation Across The Platform
While many of these changes relate to discovery, alerts, and risk assessment, we made changes across the entire platform for even greater impact. These include integrating data activity metrics into the audit log, meaning that when you analyze the activity in your data stores, you already see the most significant information on the same screen.
In addition, when managing data stores in Satori, you have immediate visibility into the data store risk levels and can define the environment or business significance of each data store. The data store management screen also gives you the geographic breakdown of your data stores in a single location, allowing you to understand where sensitive data is hosted from a jurisdiction perspective.
